報告人簡介：
Prof. Mary Ann Bjornsti gratuated from NY State University College at Cortland in 1978 with a BS in Biology and completed his Ph.D degree in 1983 at Genetics from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She then pursued her postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Edward Kellenberger at the University of Basel during 1984 to 1985 before joining the Dept.Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Harvard University as a postdoctoral research fellow with Prof. James C Wang. In 2009 Prof. Mary was appointed as the Chair of Dept. Pharmacology and Toxicology of University of Alabama at Birmingham. Regarding the professional service, Prof. Mary served as the member of NIH ET 1 study section from 1998 to 2002, Chair of Gordon Research Conference on Molecular Therapeutics of Cancer in 2003, Chair of NCI-I Initial Review Group Subcommittee I from 2004 to 2008. She also served as the President elect of Association of Medical School Pharmacology Chairs from 2013 to 2014.
Prof.Mary has contributed herself into the field of Biology and Pharmacology for more than 20 years, and gained remarkable achievements on her study. She published more than 50 papers in peer reviewed journals such as Antitumor drugs impede DNA uncoiling by topoisomerase I published by Nature in 2007 pubilshed by Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, Mutation of Gly 721 alters DNA topoisomerase I active site architecture and sensitivity to camptothecin published by J. Bio Chem in 2008. She also won grant supports such as DNA topoisomerase-camptothecin interactions (National Cancer Institute, Year: 1993-2014), UAB Comprehesve Cancer Support Grant (National Cancer Insitute, Year: 2011-2016), DNA topoisomerase-camptothecin interactions (National Caner Insitute) , UAB SPORE in Breast Cancer and so on.
