報告人簡介：
Dr. Alvin Shrier earned his Doctorate in Physiology and Biophysics from Dalhousie University in 1976 and after a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Emory University joined McGill University in 1979. He is currently the Hosmer Professor Department of Physiology. His research interests include the dynamics of cardiac electrical activity and the molecular mechanisms of ion channel biogenesis and function. Professor Shrier was Chair of the Department of Physiology at McGill from 1994-2004 and Associate Dean for Computers and Information in the Faculty Medicine from 1997-2003. From 1994-2004 he was Director of the CIHR Research Group entitled “Cardiovascular Plasticity in Health and Disease”. He is the past-President of the Canadian Physiological Society and the Canadian Federation of Biological Sciences. Currently he is a Director of the Cell Information Theme of the McGill University Life Sciences Complex.
