Director: Professor Peiqing Liu

Areas of Study:
(1) Systematical screening of the bioactivity of chemical compounds;
(2) Preclinical druggability evaluation of potential drug candidates.
This key laboratory consists of an academic committee and implemented PI team system. At present, there are 22 professors, 15 associate professors, 12 lecturers and 5 technical staffs in the team, which have comprehensive research background and rich research experience in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and toxicology.

Core Facilities:
The laboratory is equipped with advanced large-scale instruments, including X-ray crystal diffractometer, High throughput screening system, High content screening system, SEQUENOM MassArray system, LC/MS, Automatic biochemical analyzer, NMR, ect, which is able to fulfill the requirements of screening of bioactive compounds, pharmacodynamic & toxicity evaluation and pharmacokinetic investigation.

Main Goals:
One of the key laboratory’s goals is to establish an efficient screening system for bioactive chemical compounds, including setting up screening assays for potential therapeutic targets and developing models for pharmacodynamics/ pharmacokinetics assessment. Another goal is to establish a preclinical druggability evaluation platform for the potential drug candidates, such as ADME & toxicity prediction, drug-likeness identification and druggability evaluation.
