The laboratory consists of an academic committee and implemented PI team system. We have 55 faculties including full professors, associate professors, lectures, and full time technicians. Every year a large number of master degree and doctoral degree students are trained. Besides, we have recruited many talents with different academic background via ‘One Hundred Talents Program of SYSU’ to join us. Through a special funding program, we collaborate with worldwide advanced laboratories and institutes to strengthen personnel training and joint research.

Core Facilities: 
The lab occupies 5,000 m2 space. The instruments include SEQUENOM MassArray system, X-ray crystal diffractometer, High throughput screening system, High content screening system, LC/MS, Automatic biochemical analyzer, and NMR. Five platforms were established including drug design platform, target discovery and structural biology platform, drug synthesis and key techniques platform, new drug evaluation platform, which can provide technical support and collaborative research with other institutes correspondingly.

Main Goals: 
We mainly focus on the international frontier of innovative drug research to build a key laboratory in line with Guangdong medicinal characteristics and international standards. Our studies include drug design, molecular synthesis, extraction and separation, optimization and structural modification of active compounds, verification of new targets and establishment of major diseases target system, early drug evaluation and its pre-clinical studies.
